THE BRIEF HISTORY OF WBPF PRO MR. WORLD
The idea of organizing the WBPF PRO MR. WORLD was mooted by Datuk Paul Chua the Founder and Secretary-General of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation since early 2014 in order to provide some cash incentives to the top bodybuilders who have competed and won top rankings in the WBPF World and Continental Championships since the birth of this new federation in 2009. Datuk Paul Chua is popularly known as the “FATHER” of Bodybuilding throughout the world and many bodybuilders and officials call him “Papa” or “Dad”. Just like other organizations and sports, he wanted to upgrade the status of the bodybuilders throughout the world and offer Cash Prizes for them. Many WBPF champions after winning the coveted title of WBPF Mr. Universe has no other challenges thus the WBPF PRO MR. WORLD will bring all the elite athletes in one platform to show their supremacy in the sport of Bodybuilding.
Hence a new era is born …..The WBPF PRO MR. WORLD is a pro event and many federations hesitated to organize this prestigious competition till we met Mr. Rex Wong an ardent and active young man in a special meeting at Guangzhou, China and sought his support to make this a reality. He was surprised and told us that he need to speak to his President Mr. T.T. Ho. Both these gentlemen were very anxious to have it organised in China Hong Kong and we had another round of meeting together with our Executive Director Ms. Christina Y. Kam in Hong Kong in April 2015.
The Hong Kong Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (HKBPSF) under the leadership of Mr. T.T. Ho and Mr. Rex Wong agreed to take up the challenge to organize the 1STWBPF PRO MR. WORLD in the city of Hong Kong. An agreement was entered and signed between WBPF and HKBPSF. This is a pro competition and any organizer who is promoting and working in line with our rules and constitution and not working against us will be given the privilege to organize a pro contest in their country. This is the beginning of a new chapter for the WBPF and it will be a great thriller in China Hong Kong in August. 2015
